Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo was among the celebrities who attended Snoop Dogg’s private listening party for his new album ‘Bush’ at Club Tongue Groove on April 17 2015 in Atlanta Georgia. Timi Dakolo posted the photo (above) crediting Pharell Williams’ brilliant input on Snoop Dogg’s album. The singer is still in Atlanta for music related businesses and he’s expected to return to Nigeria soon.

Vice President-Elect, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo while appreciating all APC supporters who contributed to the victory of the party at various levels during the just concluded elections has said that the party’s mantra of change was real, and will be used to transform the country. Prof. Osinbajo who posted his thought on twitter avowed that, ‘’For us, Change is not just a campaign slogan; Change is possible; Change is doable; Change will work! Believe and participate,’’ he said. While commending all supporters of the party in the just concluded election, he urged them to keep the faith even in other supplementary elections that will hold soon. He said, ‘’ Thank you to all who supported our Governorship & Legislature candidates on Saturday. For supplementary elections, keep the faith.’’ He also urged candidates who were successful in the just concluded elections to ‘’join hands with the people to build states and a nation of our dreams.’’

The National Security Adviser (NSA) retired Col. Sambo Dasuki has given assurance that the Federal Government will liberate Sambisa forest from Boko Haram before the May 29th Presidential handover date. Speaking to PRNigeria, a media agency that distributes press releases on behalf of security agencies, Col Dasuki said the Federal Government was making every effort to ensure that the missing Chibok girls along with every other Nigerians abducted by Boko Haram members are rescued.

Lagos state Governor Babatunde Fashola yesterday rewarded Sergeant Mercy John pictured above for bravery. The female police officer single-handedly disarmed two robbers who attempted to dispose her of her belongings at Egbeda-Shasha by Tawakalitu Close, Orisunmibare Road, Lagos on 10th February, 2015. Sergeant Mercy, a native of Ikori in Cross River State was on her way to work when armed robbers attacked her. She fought back and was able to recover a locally made pistol with two live cartridges from them. At a ceremony which held at the Lagos House, Ikeja, Governor Fashola encouraged the brave female officer not to relent in her efforts in keeping the state safe...

According to reports by SA media, a number of shops owned by foreigners have closed their shops in the Johannesburg CBD area after allegedly receiving threats from a mob. The group, who are said to be Zulu boys, threatened to attack any shops that remained open. They recently looted many shops in Durban and killed about 10 foreign immigrants, including Nigerians. They burnt some people inside their shops. An eNCA reporter Nickolaus Baeur was in one of the streets this morning called Lilian Ngoyi Street and shop owners told him they feared for their safety. President elect, Gen Muhammadu Buhari says all political office holders, governors, ministers, permanent secretaries, head of foreign staff and others, will be declaring their assets before a law court on assumption of their appointment and at the end of their appointment. According to him, this would ensure accountability amongst public servants. He said this in an interview with Sahara TV yesterday April 12th "All those that were governors, ministers, permanent secretaries, head of foreign staff and all those with political appointments will have to declare their assets on the assumption of their appointment and definitely with the courts. And once they leave they have to re-declare their assets.” he said

PDP in Lagos state says that the 48-hour silence of Governor Fashola since the Oba of Lagos made death threats to Igbos indicates that not only is Fashola in agreement with what the Oba said, but that the Oba spoke on behalf of the state government. In a statement released today, the party demanded for the suspension of the Oba until after the elections. The statement reads in part; "The governor is thus a conspirator in this threat to life and must also be held accountable for any violence in this elections. We have at this point been vindicated about the desperation of the APC to retain Lagos state at all cost including the All Progressives Congress’ plan not to concede the imminent defeat on April 11. The positions of the PDP are coming on the heels of the now viral threat issued by the Oba of Lagos to Igbos that they must vote for the APC Governorship Candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, or be drowned in Lagos water."

In an interview with Views Channel, 2face Idibia shared his rag to riches story, remembering a time in his life he claimed 'staff' when he boarded buses in Lagos because he had no money to pay for his bus fare. Staff is a word public servants like police or the army say to bus conductors so they would not pay their bus fare.. "I got robbed sometime in school. All my audio cassettes that I recorded they took them. I was sad for like a year plus. I dropped out  and I am like look I am not continuing this thing I am going to follow music. Son of late former governor of old Anambra state Chief C.C Onoh and former member of the Enugu state House of state, Dr Josef Onoh has vowed to drag the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu before the International Criminal Court of Justice over the anti-Igbo comments he made during his meeting with some Igbo leaders resident in Lagos last Sunday. Speaking with Vanguard, Dr Josef Onoh said "Let it be known that whether Oba Akiolu’s threat comes to fruition or not, I have concluded to take him to the ICC where he will keep company with the like Charles Taylor and answer to human right charges that will be preferred against him” he said

Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state says for anyone to successfully impeach him, they would have to impeach God first. Gov. Fayose said this during an audience participatory programme; 'Meet Your Governor' aired on the State Television, EKTV, Ekiti Radio, Progress FM and NTA, Ado Ekiti today April 6th. "I’m like Israel that is in the midst of enemies but will always prevail. Whoever wants to remove me will first have to impeach God. They are doing all these just to get at me because of my support for President Jonathan and I have no regret for supporting the president. Let me say it again, I have not been served any impeachment notice. The House of Assembly is also on recess and Dr Adewale Omirin is not the speaker of the State House of Assembly. Omirin is in court, challenging his impeachment and he can’t be challenging his impeachment in court and at the same time laying claim to being Speaker.” he said.
