Wife of the President, Hajiya Aisha Muhammadu Buhari arrived Kebbi State on Thursday, February 4, for the formal flag off of the 2016 Maternal and Child Health Week. She was received at the airport by the state governor Abubakar Bagudu and his wife, Dr Zainab Atiku Bagudu and other state officials.
The First Lady's visit coincided with the World Cancer Day, where she used the occasion to commission the state cancer-screening exercise. While harping on the importance of maternal and child healthcare, urged governments to give priority to the issues of health.
Mrs Buhari commissioned the multi million Naira Jega General Hospital named after her and the newly upgraded Birnin Yari Primary Health centre.
