A US doctor based in New York who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea has become the first person in the city to test positive for Ebola. 33 year old Dr. Craig Allen Spencer (pictured above) had been working with Doctors Without Borders in Guinea, and returned to NYC on October 17th. He tested positive to the virus the Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan New York yesterday October 23rd. He and three other people he had contact with in recent days, including his girlfriend have been placed in isolation at the Bellevue hospital. He's officially the 4th person to test positive on American soil.

For those who believe in things like this... Nigerian Tribune  is reporting that a baby was born recently in Oyo state clutching a pocket-size Qur’an (pictured above). The baby, who has since been named Ismail, was born in a church at the Oniyanrin area of Ibadan in September, the reports states. A renowned Islamic preacher who the newspaper spoke with said the woman who delivered the baby threw away the object she found in the baby's hand thinking it was something devilish, only for them to later find out it was a pocket-size Qur’an which contained all the 114 chapters in the holy book. It was wrapped in a thread. The preacher said although the Qur’an was small, the lettering inside was readable. The child's parent who were not practicing any faith prior to the birth of Ismail, now say they will revert to Islam as this was a sign directly from Allah. A mum has been arrested over claims she allowed  her young   daughter  to be raped by a  gang  of men from the age of four.  The girl, who is now 10, told detectives that she was repeatedly sexually abused over a five-year period by different men, leading to the arrests of seven people, including her mom and her uncle.     A security source told news men it is one of the worst examples of alleged child abuse that officers have ever encountered. It is absolutely horrific. On a scale of one to 10 this ranks at around a 20.

Ghana’s Range Rover E-Vogue Ambassador, Joselyn Canfor Dumas in a new interview has spoken about why she adores her Nigerian counterpart, Genevieve Nnaji who is also a Range Rover E-Vogue ambassador. Ms Dumas said when she was contacted to be the brand’s face, she was so excited because she knows Genevieve represents them in Nigeria, while Victoria Beckham represents them globally, and to her that’s a phenomenon. A 4-year-old boy, Omonigho Abraham is currently battling for his life at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, after his scalp was eaten by two dogs -  And according to Punch, the dogs had chewed the skin and exposed the victim’s skull during the attack which happened on Thursday on Adegboyega Street, Akesan Estate, in the Igando area of Lagos. PUNCH Metro  had reported last week that the police arrested the two dogs for attacking Omonigho. However, their correspondent learnt from eyewitnesses that the dogs dragged him through the compound for more than one hour while policemen and sympathisers watched helplessly at the  entrance of the house for fear of being attacked by the savage dogs.
