Kanu Nwankwo is officially a football legend. The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) have named Nigeria’s Nwankwo Kanu in the list of top 48 legends of football worldwide. The body released the first phase of the list which also includes Brazilian greats Pele and Ronaldo da Lima. Other notable Africans who made the list are former World player of the year George Oppong Weah, Roger Milla, Rabah Medjer, Muhammed Aboutrika, Mohmud El-Khatub and former Bafana Bafana captain Lucas Radebe.

Super Eagles and Watford Fc of England hotshot Odion Ighalo has revealed how restless he felt after a chinese club offered to pay him a mega sum to leave Watford last summer and join them. The Edo native has been a revelation this season after his 14 goals in 24games  has helped Watford climb up the table and on the brink of avoiding relegation. Former Senate President, Ken Nnamani, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party. Nnamani was Senate President from 2005 to 2007. In a statement titled, ‘PDP, the burden and my conscience,’ which he released today February 6th, Nnamani said he was quitting politics in the interim but will however work and support government as well as elected officials as they work towards a better Nigeria. “Without any iota of bitterness in my heart, I have decided to disengage from the PDP and consequently step aside from partisan politics in the interim. I wish to express my profound gratitude to the party that gave me the platform with which I attained the height I did in the politics of our country"he said.

Buhari warned Nigerians to stop trying to make asylum claims in Britain, saying that their reputation for criminality has made it hard for them to be "accepted" abroad.Buhari said those who had joined the migrant exodus to Europe were doing so purely for economic reasons rather than because they were in danger. He added that because of the number of Nigerians imprisoned for law-breaking in Britain and elsewhere, they were also unlikely to get much sympathy. "Some Nigerians claim is that life is too difficult back home, but they have also made it difficult for Europeans and Americans to accept them because of the number of Nigerians in prisons all over the world accused of drug trafficking or human trafficking. I don't think Nigerians have anybody to blame. They can remain at home, where their services are required to rebuild the country."he said

Her new track and clip certainly seemed to be the gift that kept on giving as Beyonce and Jay Z's daughter Blue Ivy also made a special appearance in it. The adorable four-year-old looked angelic in a long white dress as she played with and posed with a few gal pals. Beyonce spent most of the video in a clinging low-cut burgundy bodysuit which showed off her cleavage and pert posterior.  She also wore thigh-high stockings and an intricate, large pearl necklace as she moved and grooved in a hallway with a few of her background dancers.   Her highlighted brunette tresses were worn in an intricate braided updo as she sported natural, complimentary make-up on her face topped off with a swipe of shiny lip. As the music video is set in New Orleans, she paid homage to the city by moving and grooving inside the hallways of a plantation-style home. 

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo said the over 200 girls abducted by Boko Haram in Chibok, Borno State may never be found because their whereabout is unknown. He stated this on Friday, February 5 while fielding questions during the Seventh Roundtable with Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, a programme organised by Obafemi Awolowo University Staff Club. "The search for the abducted Chibok girls may not be fruitful. Nobody can bring back the girls because they are nowhere to be found." he said. Obasanjo blamed former President Goodluck Jonathan for ignoring the distress call to rescue the girls on the day they were abducted. "The former president heard about the kidnap  8am  in the morning of the abduction but failed to act until  72 hours later  and by then it was too late." Jiangsu Suning have agreed a deal to sign Alex Teixeira from  Shakhtar Donetsk  for €50m (£38m), the Ukrainian club have announced on their website. Liverpool  had been closely linked with a move for the 26-year-old Brazilian during the January transfer window and Shakhtar said they rejected a €24m offer from the Premier League club for the attacking midfielder, with their asking price being €70m euros for a summer transfer. However, Shakhtar have now announced a deal with Chinese side Jiangsu. A statement on shakhtar.com read: “Shakhtar Donetsk and Jiangsu Suning FC have agreed on all the necessary formalities for the transfer of Alex Teixeira to the Chinese club. Transfer fee for the Brazilian midfielder is €50m.
