The IG of Police Sulaiman Abba was invited by the House yesterday to explain why his men invaded the National Assembly last week Thursday but after the meeting abruptly ended over the IG's refusal to properly address Speaker Tambuwal, the Senate has now set up a committee to probe IGP Abba and other policemen involved in the siege. A seven-member committee has been set up to probe the action of the police on that day and the committee have been given seven days to have those behind it brought to book.

Stephanie Linus has released a statement addressing the rape allegations against her older brother, Daniel Okereke, who was arrested for allegedly raping a UNILAG student named Arinola (read  here ). While it is a very difficult time for me, and my family; I feel the need to make clear my position, lest there be any doubt. Rape is rape, regardless of who the face of the accused is.

Officers of the Nigerian Prison Services on Wednesday caught two sisters, Shade Oyetobi and Atinuke Adebanwo, while attempting to smuggle 11 wraps of  marijuana  into the Ikeja Lagos State  High Court  holding cell for awaiting trial inmates. Punch  gathered that the culprits, who claimed to be orphans, brought in the illegal substance for their brother, Babatunde Oyetobi, an awaiting trial inmate. According to them, Babatunde, who was arrested during a street fight, had been in prison for about two years. The two sisters, who were handcuffed together, said they had contributed money to  hire a lawyer  for their brother, adding that they had been coming to court regularly to stand by him since his trial started.

Two parents have said they watched in horror as a secret camera they installed in their severely disabled son’s bedroom caught a care worker physically assaulting him. Paul and Julie Rowlands  became  suspicious their son was been maltreated whenever they visit him at the care home 19-year-old Zak lives, as he usually feels bad whenever they set to leave. So the couple placed  a hidden camera  in his room, and alas they discovered Zak was been abused by a care worker.

Senate President, David Mark has ordered the shut down of the National Assembly till  Tuesday next week ,  November 25th , following this morning's chaos in which the Speaker of the House of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal, and other lawmakers were allegedly teargassed and prevented from entering the Assembly complex. Mark announced this moments ago at the Senate plenary session. The IG of police has also been ordered to appear before the House to explain what happened today. Meanwhile the House of Reps have adjourned till December 3rd.

The US embassy in Abuja has ruined the planned honeymoon of Nigerian Athlete Blessing Okagbare after they refused to grant her new husband, Igho Otegheri, visa to travel to the US with her. The couple had planned to travel to LA where the sprint queen is based but the US embassy refused to grant visa to Igho, leaving Blessing distraught. Blessing tells  Vanguard "I feel so bad that America Embassy would turn down the visa request by my husband to travel with me to Los Angeles. Days after a 7 year old girl in New Delhi complained of severe mouth pain, her parents took her to the dentist to find out what was wrong - what they found inside the girl's mouth, astounded everyone, including the dentist. The dentist found 202 teeth hidden inside the little girl's gum. According to a report by New Delhi Standard, X-rays showed the girl had suffered from compound odontoma - a complex tumour composed of normal dental tissues that have grown in an irregular way. "It was shocking to see such complex situation in the minor's mouth. Normally we see a few abnormal teeth-like structures in such patients; 202 of them inside the mouth of a seven-year-old is shocking, and our prime task was to get rid of it." said the doctor who performed the two hour surgery to remove the extra teeth. The surgery was successful and the little girl has been able to chew and is now leading a normal life

A 37-year-old woman in China got so angry that her three-year-old nephew walked in on her while she was using the toilet that she cut his penis off. Xue Paan, was supposed to be looking after her sister's son, Qiang Qiang, while his mum went to visit a neighbour nearby but when the little boy interrupted her as she was texting her boyfriend, and asked if he could play a game on her phone, the furious aunt stormed into the kitchen, picked up a knife and hacked off the boy's penis.

Kath y Griffin and late great Joan Rivers have a similar sense of humour so I think this will work. According to a report by TMZ, the comedian  is set to replace Joan Rivers as host of Fashion Police. From  TMZ   Kathy Griffin will be Joan Rivers' replacement on "Fashion Police" ... TMZ has learned. Sources connected with the show tell TMZ it's a done deal. Kathy will join Melissa Rivers, Kelly Osbourne and Giuliana Rancic. We don't know the fate of George Kotsiopoulos. We're told the show will no longer be a weekly series. E! will roll it out during awards shows and other occasions as event programming. One silver lining ... the drapes will now match the carpet for sure.
