A mobile policeman in Bauchi state shot dead his superior and former ADC to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, Superintendent of Police, Chris Eza (pictured above), yesterday February 26th in Bauchi. According to family sources, Chris Eza had gone out to get food at an eatery along Ahmadu Bello way around 9pm when he saw some police officers on patrol. On observation, he found out that one of them, the suspect, was not properly dressed and immediately cautioned him. The junior officer, a Corporal, got angry and began to grumble for being told to dress properly. An angry Chris felt his action was unacceptable and warned the officer that he was going to disarm him if he didn't take care. Instead of apologizing, the junior officer cocked his gun and threatened to shoot his boss.

LMAO. So Lupita's $150,000 dress was just a big Hollywood fat lie? *sigh*. According to TMZ, Lupita Nyong'o's Oscar gown was returned to The London West Hollywood hotel where it was taken from. There's a twist however. The thief called TMZ to tell them where it could be found as the Calvin Klein dress allegedly worth $150K, was a worthless fake. Police in Russia have launched a full scale search for a gang of organ traffickers including a sexy lady and doctor who drugged 30 year old TV Soap actor Dmitry Nikolaev and removed his testicles. South Korea's Constitutional Court on Thursday struck down a 60-year-old statute outlawing adultery under which violators faced up to two years in prison. The nine-member bench ruled by seven to two that the 1953 law was unconstitutional. "Even if adultery should be condemned as immoral, state power should not intervene in individuals' private lives," said presiding justice Park Han-Chul. It was the fifth  time the  apex court had considered  the constitutional  legality of the legislation which had made South Korea one of the few non-Muslim countries to regard marital infidelity as a criminal act. The Nigerian Army says it will be placing all the Nigerian troops involved in the mission to recapture Baga from Boko Haram on special promotion. The promotion was announced by the Chief of Army Staff, Kenneth Minimah while addressing the soldiers in Baga today February 25th. In his speech, the Army Chief celebrated the army officers and urged them to keep up the tempo & rescue more towns. "The entire country is singing praises of Nigerian soldiers for the bravery exhibited in the fight against the insurgents. I urge you to keep the tempo by striving hard to record more successes. Never again will Nigerians suffer this kind of large scale destruction in the name of insurgency. The war is almost ended. We will liberate Dikwa, Bama, Gwoza, Marte and other places in a few days time" he said

A Johannesburg man and an adulterous woman found themselves unable to separate from each other after having sex in the woman's home last Thursday, this is according to a report by SA's  Daily Sun . A woman identified as Mrs Taiwo Sheriffdeen gave birth to a baby boy without arms in Ifo LGA of Ogun state on Tuesday February 24th. According to a report by  Punch , the woman gave birth to the baby, her first child, at Majotal Hospital, a private hospital in the Ilogbo area of Ado/Odo-Ota Local Government Area of the state. Speaking on the birth of her deformed baby, the mother said her husband, Mudashiru Sheriffdeen, ran away after he was told that their child was deformed at birth (the baby pictured above).

The Canadian government denied Chris Brown entry into the country yesterday just hours before a scheduled performance. Chris took to Twitter to announce to fans...in a dignified manner. He tweeted; "Unfortunately I will not be able to perform in front of sold out crowds in Montreal & Toronto. The good people of the Canadian government wouldn't allow me entry. I'll be back this summer and will hopefully see all my Canadian fans!" Chris was scheduled to perform in Montreal yesterday night and Toronto this night. And fans had already bought tickets. Not nice! Die hard Chris Brown fans are now asking the US govt to ban Justin Bieber - who is Canadian - from entry into the US. According to TMZ, Canadian law dictates a person could be "criminally inadmissible" if they have been convicted of a crime involving assault.

Former FIFA World Player of the Year (2006), Fabio Cannavaro, 41, has been sentenced to 10 months in prison for breaching orders to keep out of his home after it was seized by authorities. The home of the former Real Madrid defender turned coach was seized after he was accused of tax evasion. The authorities claim he owes over €1m in unpaid taxes. They also seized goods worth about €1million as well as a €180,000 yacht belonging to Cannavaro. He was arrested after he was caught going for a swim at his home's swimming pool with his wife and brother after breaking the lock authorities had used to lock his home. His brother and wife were also given custodial sentences. All three have appealed and will therefore have their sentences suspended until a final judgment is made.

These were transported through Lagos, a day before yesterday.  There were about 10-15 trailers transporting what looked like mostly armoured tanks.  The pictures aren't too good, those trailers were moving so slow and you couldn't slow down because of the soldiers. President Goodluck Jonathan commissioned a 750 Megawatt Olorunsogo Phase 2 Power Plant which is not working, says senator Bukola Saraki. It should be recalled that Jonathan expressed great joy over the appearance of the new power plant. He noted that his administration wanted to ensure the fulfillment of Nigeria’s potential.             The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has disclosed that the Nigerian military, in its ongoing mopping up operations in the strategic town of Baga, has uncovered heaps of arms and ammunition abandoned by the defeated and fleeing Boko Haram terrorists. The Director of Defence Information (DDI), Maj-Gen. Chris Olukolade, confirmed this is a statement on Sunday with pictorial evidence of a stockpile of various weapons abandoned by the insurgents.

NATIONAL Co-ordinator of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Otunba Gani Adams, yesterday, said that six million members of the group have resolved to vote for President Goodluck Jonathan at the March 28 presidential polls. He said OPC members took the decision at their National Co-ordinating Council meeting after taking time to assess President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Major Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd) of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 2, Lagos, Joseph Mbu in an interview with newsmen in Ogun state last Friday said he stands by his earlier statement that the police will kill 20 for each police life lost during the election, insisting his men will kill in self defense. One of the aides of Rivers state Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, Mr Fred Ndigbara has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen. According to reports, Mr Ndigbara, a staff of the Press Unit of the Government House was kidnapped during the APC rally in in Kanani 1 community in Khana local government area of Rivers State yesterday February 22nd. The Gunmen stormed the venue of the campaign rally, disrupted proceedings and then whisked away Mr Ndigara into a waiting Toyota vehicle. When contacted, the states police public relations officer (PPRO), DSP Ahmad Muhammad confirmed the incident, and said the police has begun a search for the governor's aide and also apprehend the kidnappers.

President Jonathan says despite former Pres. Obasanjo's recent verbal attacks on his administration, he still sees him as his father and his first Political son. GEJ said God used people, including the former president to make him become the President of Nigeria. President Jonathan said this in an interview with Tribune in Lagos "First and foremost, Obasanjo is a father to me. By divine providence and the grace of God, I am the President of Nigeria today. It is not by my strength. But God uses human beings to actualise His own blessings on human beings. The Dubai Marina Torch, an 86-storey building which stand s (1,105 ft),  was engulfed by fire in the early hours of today forcing a mass evacuation. The fire reportedly started around the 52nd floor then moved to the lower parts of the building. Thousands of residents were evacuated from the highrise and it took more than a dozen fire trucks to extinguish the flames. Authorities say there were no reports of deaths or injuries from the Marina Torch fire and the cause of the fire is not immediately clear. See photos from the incident after the cut...
